He was born in Chania in 1950. He studied at the An. He was born in 1950 in Chania and received a Master’s Degree in Tropical and Subtropical Crops at the University of Florence. Since 1980 he worked as an Agricultural Engineer at the Central Union of Chania, from where he retired. He has been involved in public affairs, in local government, in the trade union sector as president of the workers’ union of the A.S.O. of Chania, in the cooperative sector as a member and president of the Cooperative of Organic Products Producers of Chania and as a founding member of the cooperative of producers and consumers GAIA.

As a producer, he has been actively and pioneeringly involved in Organic Agriculture from the early 1990s until today in the cultivation of olives, citrus, tropical plants and avocados.
