Dr Tontou Rodanthi, an agronomist with a PhD in Plant Pathology, will be recruited by SYNVIO and will participate in the monitoring, recording and identification of insect pests and diseases and will be trained by the scientific team of IELYA and MFI in rational methods of plant protection and management of new pests. The aim is the transfer of scientific know-how to the agronomists of SYNVIO on plant protection issues and the creation of a two-way relationship with the respective research laboratories (e.g. Crete).

The agronomists under recruitment, R. Tontou and I. Petrakis, by participating actively and over time in plant protection practices, will be able not only to assimilate the principles of plant protection, but also to transmit them to those directly interested – producers of this crop (Linking research with the primary sector).
